Check spelling in your writing

Review spelling suggestions on the web, iPhone and iPad without changing your words automatically.

Open spelling support

Review suggestions

Choose Check spelling in the editor and select Australian or US English. Spelling is checked on your device. Choose a suggested replacement, ignore a word, or undo a correction; your text does not change automatically.

On the web

Select text before opening Check spelling to review just that selection, or choose Check whole draft. Add to dictionary saves a word for this workspace in this browser.

On iPhone and iPad

The native spelling review checks the draft on your device. On iPhone, open Writing options to find Check spelling. If the selected dictionary is unavailable, the app tells you which alternative it uses.
